We purchased the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand so our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and assess it. Keep reading for our full product review.

One manufacturer at the forefront of wireless charging is Samsung. They were among the first that have a foothold of the market thanks to being among the first to implement wireless charging on their devices. So it’s no surprise the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand is our top pick in this category. The 2018 model boasts fast charging speeds, a built-in fan to dissipate heat, and a stylish design. It’s a great charger for Samsung users in particular, though it comes at a hefty price.

Design: Aesthetically pleasing

It’s really hard to miss a Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand as it’s one of the most aesthetically pleasing stands on the market. The circular pad is at an angle on top of a base that gives users the flexibility to interact with their device in landscape or portrait orientation.

There are two charging coils, letting you place it in both orientations without too many adjustments. A multi-colored LED indicator on the front displays its charging status. It’s fortunately not too bright at night when you’re trying to sleep. The bottom of the stand has a rubber pad for grip, and a built-in cooling fan in the back keeps the charger and your phone cool while in use.

It’s really hard to miss a Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand as it is one of the most aesthetically pleasing ones in the marketplace.

Setup Process: Easy and quick

There’s not a lot to the setup process. Samsung made it even easier on their customers by including an AC adapter, so you know your setup is going to receive the optimal power and speed. One of the bonuses of this charger is that it uses a USB-C cord, which is becoming a standard across devices. Once everything is connected, place your phone on the stand and an orange LED will turn on indicating your device is juicing up.

Charging Speed: Blazing fast

For our testing of the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand we used an iPhone XS Max that had its battery completely depleted to the point the screen shut off. We waited for about an hour or so to make sure the phone had cooled off. The Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand took a little over 3 hours to completely replenish the battery of the smartphone, which is what we got on most other devices that output at a similar wattage.

With a Galaxy S9, our phone charged much faster due to Samsung’s Adaptive fast charging technology. In this case, we were able to top our phone up to nearly 90 percent in 1.5 hours, and to full in 2 hours. Thanks to the cooling fan located in the back, we didn’t notice our phone or charger becoming excessively warm.

The charging stand works with all Qi compatible smartphones. The 9W fast charge feature is only compatible with the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the later models of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. That includes all the current flagships like the Galaxy S9 and Note 9. The Apple’s iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone XR are also compatible with the charger, but you won’t get the same charging speed (5W).

Price: Expensive but worth it

The Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand retails at $50, making it one of the most expensive wireless charger we’ve tested. Most of the other wireless charger manufacturers don’t include a power brick, which you have to buy separately to take advantage of the fast charging features. Samsung users get fast wireless charging on the stand along with an additional adapter and cable. That’s not a bad deal.

One of the bonuses of this charger is that it uses a USB-C cord, which is becoming standard across devices.

Samsung Fast Wireless Charger Stand vs. Choetech Fast Wireless Charging Stand

There are plenty of fast charging stands on the market, but with Samsung, you do get the peace of mind of having a brand name. That said, Choetech's Fast Wireless Charging Stand is a great and affordable competitor, with the same charging speeds, better compatibility for Apple users, and a lower price. You may never have heard the name, but if you want to buy multiple charging stands for home and office use, Choetech will be easier on your wallet.
