Watching movie trailers gives you a glimpse at what a film is about before you watch it. Below are the best sites I've used for these sneak peeks. You'll find everything you're looking for: The latest movie trailers for upcoming films, old trailers, handmade lists of the best ones, and multiple trailers for the same movie.

If you find a trailer for something you're interested in, first check if it's on a free movie streaming site before paying for it.

With millions of titles and extremely thorough movie information, IMDb is one of the top 100 websites in the world and is a must-visit site for anyone looking for movie trailers.

The trailer section lets you view previews of the most popular movies and locate all the recently added trailers for movies that were just released and others that are coming out soon. It's also simple to locate trending trailers and the most anticipated ones.

If not for trailers alone, movie lovers should visit IMDb just to see the sheer amount of detail they have on both films and TV shows. It's one of the best sites for learning who played, or will play, in something.

IMDb used to include completely free movies you could stream directly from their website. These are still available on Amazon Freevee.

Another place to find previews of upcoming films, trailers from the top box office movies, current movie trailers, and more, is Rotten Tomatoes.

Scrolling through the trailers on this site is easy because they're all on a single page. You can also browse the trailers by when the film will be in theaters.

Sorting and filtering options let you find trailers for movies that have a particular Rotten Tomatoes score, movies in one or more specific genres, and films that are popular or that were recently added to the site.

YouTube is the most popular video streaming site on the web, so it's no surprise that it's one of the best movie preview sites as well. Movie production companies and other users can upload movie trailers to YouTube that are free for everyone to watch.

Although there's a dedicated page for free movies on YouTube, unlike other trailer sites, YouTube doesn't have a page meant just for those kinds of videos; they're mixed in with music videos, podcasts, news stations, and more. This means you can't easily find trailers for movies that are coming out soon or new trailers that were just released.

Instead, just search for any trailer you want to watch—including the year of the movie release is helpful to filter out all the other content on the site. There are also channels dedicated to trailers, such as Movie Trailers Source, Rotten Tomatoes Trailers, and Boxoffice Animation Movie Scenes. You can also visit a YouTube channel from a specific media company or production company, such as Warner Bros Pictures or Disney.

Get movie previews, insider information, and the latest movie gossip at ComingSoon.net, one of the most popular entertainment sites on the web.

Not only can you find all sorts of movie trailers, you'll also get first dibs on insider gossip, speculation on upcoming movie plots, actor and actress information, and much more. 

One downside is that you can only browse the trailers page by the ones that were just added and by a category called Exclusive. There is a search tool and a page full of movies, but neither will guarantee that you'll find trailers.

Moviefone is an excellent source for all-things movies. In addition to its trailers are showtimes near you, a tool to find where to stream movies online, and related news and interviews.

I'm not a fan of the way you have to scroll left and right to look through the videos, but I do like the different categories. You can watch the newest trailers, trailers for movies coming soon, and those currently in theaters.

Something this site does better than most is that it pops out the trailer so you can start watching instantly without navigating away from the page. This makes it much easier to get your fix without having to scroll through a bunch of other information like the synopsis and cast, although those details are available if you want them.

Apple TV

What We Like

  • High-quality trailers.

  • No website ads.

  • Extra information beyond videos.

What We Don't Like

  • Only one way to browse.

  • Lists relatively few trailers.

Apple TV has trailers, too. There aren't a lot to pick from, though, because it's just one page of the latest trailers. But the videos are high-quality and free from ads.

These trailers include a summary of the movie. You can also see how other people have rated the film, get a list of who the stars are, and find related videos you might also like.
