Experience

Harry Rabinowitz is a writer who has been covering technology since 2020. Before coming to Lifewire in 2022, he covered technology, gaming, and the outdoor industry for sites like Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, and NBC News. With Lifewire, he focuses on finding, testing, and reviewing the best computers and computer peripherals.

Harry’s expertise in technology and consumer products comes from a long history in the consumer goods industry, working with various consumer brands, including Walmart, LEGO, and Grove Collaborative. Regardless of the context, Harry leverages his keen understanding of technical details with his ability to hone in on what is most important to most people.

My Gear

My daily driver is a custom-built desktop PC I have upgraded and maintained since 2015. Currently, it is running Windows 10 with an Intel Core i5-6600K CPU (still kicking!), an MSI RTX 3070 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and three SSDs in a Fractal Design case.

For peripherals, I use a Ducky x Varmillo Miya Pro 65% mechanical keyboard, a Logitech MX Master 2s mouse, a Novelkeys desk pad, a Blue Yeti microphone, a Logitech B525 webcam, and a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (80 OHM) headphones plugged into a Fiio E10K Olympus 2 DAC.

When traveling, I use a Dell XPS 15 and a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3s.

Outside work, I use an iPhone SE, Apple Watch SE, iPad, Amazon Fire TV, Nintendo Switch, Audio-Technica AT-LP 60 turntable, and Edifier R1280DB bookshelf speakers for everyday living and entertainment.

Education

Harry attended New York University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Writing & Game Design.

A Message from Harry Rabinowitz

I want non-technically people to be able to enjoy and understand the technology that drives their everyday routine. Informed consumers make informed choices, and I believe informed decision making is how we make progress in everything—not just in which smartphone to buy.
