Now You Can Use AI Right in Adobe Acrobat

Generate and edit images, improved meeting transcripts, and more

Now you don't need to leave Adobe Acrobat to make AI-generated images.

AI can offer some useful features for creating and editing documents, and now with Adobe PDF, you can use AI from inside a document.

In an announcement sent to Lifewire, Adobe unveiled the addition of a new feature—called Acrobat AI Assistant—that allows you to generate and edit images with AI inside PDF document, but you can also use it to pull data from multiple document sources for deeper insights, and even to create draft content.

The image generation and editing feature is powered by Adobe's Firefly Image 3 Model, about which Adobe said, "This is the first time any PDF app is offering generative image capabilities..."

The company also promises its AI has a "better understanding of prompts" and offers "new levels of detail and variety." Using the Acrobat AI Assistant, you can generate images to include in the document or even add visual appeal to the background of a document.

The Acrobat AI Assistant can also help you edit existing images in a document. Features include generative fill, removing backgrounds, cropping, and erasing unwanted objects.

The new Acrobat AI Assistant can also help you pull data together from multiple documents in multiple formats to gain further insights from that information, including "key themes, trends, and relationships." The document types that can be accessed include PDF, Word, and PowerPoint, and any insights generated can be manipulated with Acrobat AI Assistant to create content like emails or reports.

Finally, this update brings an enhancement to meeting transcripts, including the ability to generate summaries of key points and action items.

On a related note, Adobe and TikTok have announced a partnership to bring TikTok's commercial music library into Adobe Express to allow access to "more than a million top and trending songs," making it easier for creators to produce TikTok content, including adding musical elements, from within Adobe Express.

Adobe AI Assistant in Adobe Acrobat will be available starting June 18, with Adobe offering free access to the Acobat AI Assistant through June 28. After that, you'll need a $4.99 per month subscription to access these features, which includes 250 generative credits per month. The Adobe/TikTok Commercial Music Library integration starts June 17.
